The Market Committee has decided to roll out a rather different non-live/non-Zoom AGM format this year.
2020 members will be receiving AGM notices shortly, either via email or phone call/regular mail for those without online access. These will include notes on Agenda items, plus a call for Director nominations and and invitation to add New Business points not already on the Agenda.
On March 1 the full AGM package will be emailed/mailed/posted online, and members will have an opportunity to vote and contribute comments, either via email or phone conversation.

*Please note: All BC Farmers’ Markets are currently restricted to “Food Only” vendors at this time, but we anticipate this restriction will be lifted at some point to allow for the full range of vendors.
We will be accepting applications from ALL types of vendors, in order to allow vendor participation to roll out as smoothly as possible in accordance with provincial Covid-19 developments.
We are getting ready to go with our first Farmers’ Market of 2020.
Due to COVID-19 recommendations by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, the Market will currently be restricted to food items and food plants only.
Entrance to the Market will be monitored, hand-sanitizing stations will be provided, and vendors will operate with safe-shopping plans in place. Please remember to maintain those social distances! At least 2 metres (6 feet) from others is the rule. Face covers are encouraged. Please don’t touch the produce – vendors will assist and handle your purchases for you. Clean, new bags will be provided.
Exactly opposite to “before COVID”, for the duration of pandemic health and safety restrictions we are asking that customers SHOP, DON’T STOP! and move through the Market as quickly as possible. There will be no entertainment or seating area, and we are not permitted to allow eating and drinking on-site – if you are buying ready-to-eat food, please be prepared to consume it elsewhere.
As the Recreation Centre is closed, bathroom facilities may not be available at the Market site. Please plan to “go at home” before you stop by.
By shopping responsibly at the Market, you will be supporting your local farmers and food makers while acquiring excellent nutrition from close to home.

Watch for our new ONLINE MARKETPLACE rolling out on May 1st, which allows pre-orders and access to vendors who can’t be at the Market in person. We’ll publish a link when it’s ready to go live.

The brand new extra Tuesday Evening Summer Market rolled out on July 2nd, and things are looking good. Farm vendors are coming in from Hanceville, Miocene, Macalister, Forest Grove, Soda Creek, Meldrum Creek, Horsefly and West Fraser Road, and we’ve had a nicely eclectic selection of crafters, artists and artisans attending, as well as your favourite hot food vendors. Talented local musicians, too!
The Tuesday Markets are slated to continue till the end of August, and possibly longer if things are going well. Same site as the Friday Markets, next to Kiwanis Park, and 3 PM till 7 PM, Tuesdays in July and August.
The Friday Markets are continuing as usual, 9 AM till 2 PM, Fridays at Kiwanis Park, and will run until Thanksgiving weekend, with the last Market on October 11, 2019.
Come on out and enjoy either or both of the Markets!
A collaboration is happening between the Williams Lake Food Policy Council and the Cariboo Direct Farm Market Association!
On SATURDAY*, May 4, we will be hosting a co-event. Many of your favourite farmers’ market vendors will be in attendance, plus there will be loads of Seed, Plant, and Local Food Info and Activities on the Seedy Saturday side.

The Williams Lake Farmers’ Market is investigating the possibility of started a second Market on Tuesday afternoons/evenings. There are many details to work out before this becomes a reality – we’ll keep you all posted!
The Cariboo Direct Farm Market Association held its Annual General Meeting on January 15, 2019.
There was a great turnout of members and potential new members, and we were also visited by District Agrologists Katie Galliazzo and Marisa Nightingale, who gave a presentation on programs and workshops offered by the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture in the Cariboo region.
